Orders
Create an order
Creates an order in DRAFT with the requested material.
orders:writeResult
generated from the schema
It is the validated equivalent of the project request inbox: it lets a web form, a CRM or an assistant request material for some dates.
It does NOT accept amounts of any kind (no prices, discounts, insurance or deposits): the order is born at zero and the team prices it from the application. Nor does it accept status, specific serialized units, accessories or notes.
Every referenced identifier (customer, items, project) is resolved against the account of the key BEFORE writing anything: a single one that does not belong to the account rejects the whole request with 400 and creates nothing.
Arguments
Identifier of the order customer. It must belong to the account of the API key.
Limits: min length 1, max length 100
Project the order is assigned to; omitted for a standalone order.
Limits: min length 1, max length 100
Rental start (ISO 8601 with offset).
Rental end (ISO 8601 with offset); it must be later than startDate.
Requested material (between 1 and 100 lines).
Limits: min 1 items, max 100 items

Catalog item identifier. It must belong to the account of the API key.
Limits: min length 1, max length 100
Requested units of the item.
Limits: min 1, max 9999
Identifier of the specific variant; omitted for the base item.
Limits: min length 1, max length 100
Idempotency key chosen by the client (a UUID is recommended). Repeating the same key with the same arguments within 24 h returns the stored response without executing again; with different arguments it responds 422. It is the safe way to retry after a network failure.
Limits: min length 1, max length 255
Optimistic locking: the meta.etag you got from the detail read of this resource (or "*"). If the resource changed since, the call fails with 412 precondition_failed before writing anything; read it again and retry. Omit it to write unconditionally.
Limits: min length 1

Safe writes
An assistant that can write can also write the wrong thing. Decide which tools need a person, retry without duplicating, and know what a write sets in motion.
